Pastor Robert B. Corley, Jr. is the son of the late Pastor & Mrs. Robert B. (Ella) Corley, Sr. He is a product of the Saginaw Public School System, graduating from Arthur Hill Technical High School in 1971.
Pastor Corley was baptized and received his early Christian education at the Truevine Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of his father. At Truevine, he served as a choir member, usher, Sunday School instructor, deacon and trustee. Pastor Corley accepted his call into the ministry in 1984 and was ordained in October 1988.
After the death of his father in 1990, Pastor Corley continued to faithfully serve at Truevine under the leadership of Pastor Paul E. Broaddus. In January 1994, Pastor Corley accepted the call to Pastor Prince of Peace Missionary Baptist Church and on February 6, 1994, he preached his first sermon as Pastor.
He retired from Central Foundry General Motors Division in 1999 after twenty-five years. He has attended Delta College and William Tyndale Bible College. He is former moderator of the Saginaw Valley Baptist District Association. Presently he serves as Director General of the Wolverine State Baptist Congress of Christian Education. In addition, he is a member of the National Baptist Convention, U.S.A. Inc., and Congress. He has attended numerous workshops, seminars and classes in the Minister’s Division.
Pastor Corley is married to Jannis R. Corley and they are the parents of three daughters, Tammara, Rasheda and Ebony. He has one sister, Yvonne Corley and one brother MacArthur Corley, along with two God-children.
Besides church activities, Pastor Corley enjoys reading, sports, and spending time with his family, church family and friends.
